Maruti Baleno on Rent in Chandigarh

Space is the reason to choose the Maruti Baleno. On paper it's an ordinary petrol manual with five seats and a 1.2-litre engine, yet the rear seat and boot feel a size bigger than its length suggests. Families book a Baleno on rent in Chandigarh when relatives are flying in with luggage, during a busy wedding week across the Tricity, or for a day trip to Ludhiana. First-time visitors like it too, because it's simple to drive from the very first kilometre.

Four adults on a day out, or a family with two medium suitcases, fit well. Its near twin is the Toyota Glanza: the same car underneath, with Toyota badges and a different grille, so if one is booked on your dates, take the other. Both are manual hatchbacks that sit lower than an SUV. For five adults with heavy bags heading into Himachal, the Maruti Brezza has more space and more clearance over rough patches.

Best Uses for a Self Drive Baleno in Chandigarh

Airport pickups with family luggage

This is the hatchback we suggest when relatives fly in with suitcases. Two medium bags go in the boot and three adults share the rear seat for the drive home to Panchkula or Kharar, with nothing piled on laps.

A wedding week in the Tricity

Banquet halls in Zirakpur, the gurdwara in the morning, shopping in Sector 17, relatives in Mohali. Rent a Baleno in Chandigarh for the whole week: it carries four dressed-up guests comfortably and is still manageable to park outside a crowded venue.

Ludhiana (about 100 km)

A comfortable day out for four adults, for shopping or a family visit. Going and coming back is about 200 km, a full day's allowance before any driving inside Ludhiana, so book two days if you'll be running around the city too.

Driving the Maruti Baleno: What to Expect

The Baleno is light and easy to drive, with soft controls and a smooth engine that doesn't mind pottering along in third through Sector 34 traffic. It's longer than the Swift, so reversing into a tight spot at Elante takes a little more care, but the view out is good. On the highway to Ludhiana or Ambala it cruises comfortably, and four adults stay comfortable for a three-hour drive.

Rear passengers get generous legroom for a hatchback, and the boot is one of the bigger ones in its class. Expect around 22 km/l on steady highway runs, lower in city traffic and noticeably lower when climbing with everyone on board. Tip: if you're four adults on a steep section of the Kasauli road, switch the AC off for the climb to give the engine a little more pull.

Maruti Baleno Rental FAQs

The Maruti Baleno is ₹2,000 per day on self drive, with 200 km included each day. Weekly rent is ₹12,000. Monthly rent is ₹48,000. Extra kilometres are ₹10–15 per km, fuel is not included, and a refundable security deposit of ₹6,000 is taken before handover.

It barely matters, so take the one that's free. Toyota sells the Glanza, but Maruti makes it from the Baleno, so the engine, gearbox, cabin and fuel use are essentially identical. The differences are the front grille, badges and small styling details. If the Toyota name matters to you, ask for the Glanza; if not, either will do the job equally well.

For short distances, yes. The rear seat is wide for a hatchback, so three adults sit side by side without much elbow-fighting on a run to Patiala. On a five-hour drive the middle passenger will want regular breaks, and luggage for five won't fit in the boot. Five adults plus luggage on a long trip really need a Hyundai Creta AT.

The Baleno. Its rear legroom and boot are both noticeably larger, so parents, two children and their bags travel without squeezing. The Swift is the more fun drive and slightly easier to park, which suits couples and friends, but a Baleno for family trips with children and luggage is simply the more practical choice.

With up to four people, yes, as long as you're patient on the steep bits. Third gear handles most of the climbs on the Kasauli and Shimla roads; on the tighter hairpins, shift to second before the car slows too much. Aim to be past Parwanoo by 8 on a weekend morning, since the queue there builds quickly after that.

No. The Baleno we rent has a manual gearbox. For an automatic of similar length, the closest match is the Honda Amaze AT, and as a sedan it has a larger boot. A higher seating position and more of an SUV feel come with the Hyundai Venue AT, our other automatic in this size.

A valid driving licence held for at least one year, plus government photo identification such as Aadhaar or a passport. Both must be produced in original at handover. International visitors need a passport and an international driving permit.

No. The car is handed over at a recorded fuel level and should be returned at the same level. Fuel used during your rental is your own cost.

Each rental includes 200 km per day. Beyond that, additional kilometres are charged at Rs 10 to 15 per km depending on the vehicle category.

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup. Cancellations inside 24 hours are charged one day of rental.

Yes. We deliver across Chandigarh, Mohali, Zirakpur, Panchkula and Kharar, and hand over at Chandigarh airport or the railway station. Tell us the address and time when you book.

Yes. Tell us at the time of booking so the paperwork covers interstate travel, and we can suggest a vehicle suited to hill driving.

Yes, a refundable deposit is taken before handover. It is returned after the car is inspected on return, less any charges under our terms. The amount depends on the vehicle.

You must be at least 21 years old and have held a valid driving licence for at least one year.
