Toyota Fortuner AT on Rent in Chandigarh

This is the standard Toyota Fortuner AT in our fleet: seven seats, an automatic gearbox and a 2.8-litre diesel engine. If you want a Fortuner on rent in Chandigarh to take the family to Shimla, Manali or Dharamshala, collect relatives from the airport or drive to a function in Ludhiana, this is the one to start with. You drive it yourself, and we hand it over at your home, a hub, Chandigarh airport or the railway station.

It suits a family of five with proper luggage, or six to seven people on shorter drives with children in the third row. Most summer hill trips run on tarred roads and don't need four-wheel drive, and this car is meant for exactly those. For snow at Solang or Narkanda, slush or broken mountain roads, book the Toyota Fortuner 4x4 AT. If the car is for a wedding or business guests and looks matter, the Toyota Fortuner Legender AT dresses the same car up with a distinctive front end and a plusher cabin; engine and seats don't change.

Good Drives for a Fortuner From Chandigarh

Shimla and Kufri (Shimla about 115 km)

Shimla and back is about 230 km, so a 2-day booking covers it with room for the short hop up to Kufri. On weekends, clear Parwanoo before 7 am; after that the queue at the foot of the hills can eat an hour.

Manali in summer (about 300 km)

The round trip is about 600 km, which a 3-day booking covers; add a day if you want Solang or the Atal Tunnel too. Outside the snow months this Fortuner for Manali is all you need. Start around 5 am to clear Mandi before lunch.

Amritsar and Wagah (Amritsar about 230 km)

About 460 km there and back, so book 3 days and you'll still have kilometres spare for Wagah and the old city. It's flat highway nearly all the way, where the automatic and big diesel make a long day with a full car easy going.

Dharamshala and McLeodganj (Dharamshala about 240 km)

Book 3 days for the roughly 480 km round trip. The climb from Dharamshala up to McLeodganj is steep and the lanes at the top are tight, so leave the Fortuner at your hotel and walk the market rather than circling for a spot.

Driving the Toyota Fortuner AT: What to Expect

In Chandigarh the Fortuner feels big, because it is. You sit high above the traffic on Madhya Marg and the automatic deals with the stop-start at the light points, but the turning circle is wide for U-turns and parking in Sector 17 or at Elante takes patience. Out on the Kalka highway and up towards Shimla it settles down: the 2.8-litre diesel pulls hard on climbs even with a full load, and overtaking trucks is quick.

We list it at about 14 km/l, and you'll see that on an open highway; city traffic and long climbs bring it down. The ride is firm over speed breakers and broken patches, and the back rows feel it more than the front. Five adults with a week's luggage travel well. Coming down from the hills, slow down before each bend instead of riding the brakes all the way.

Toyota Fortuner AT Rental FAQs

The Toyota Fortuner AT is ₹7,000 per day on self drive, with 200 km included each day. Weekly rent is ₹42,000. Monthly rent is ₹1,68,000. Extra kilometres are ₹10–15 per km, fuel is not included, and a refundable security deposit of ₹21,000 is taken before handover.

Yes, for most of the year. From spring to autumn the Manali highway is clear of snow, and this Fortuner handles the long climb comfortably with a full car. Book 3 days for the roughly 600 km round trip, and budget about 45 to 50 litres of diesel. In winter, or if you want to go beyond Solang after snowfall, the four-wheel-drive version is the better pick.

On short runs, yes; on long ones, not really. The middle row takes three adults well, but the third row sits low with knees raised, which suits children or a half-hour hop to a function. For seven grown-ups heading to the hills, the Toyota Innova HyCross AT is kinder to the people in the back.

Take the AT for city driving, highways and hill trips on normal tarred roads, which is what most drives out of Chandigarh involve. The 4x4 AT earns its place on snow, slush and broken mountain roads, such as Narkanda in January. On paper the AT is also kinder on diesel, about 14 km/l to the 4x4's 12.

Not much. With all three rows up, the space behind the last row takes a few soft bags or backpacks, not hard suitcases. Seven people away for a week should pack duffels and share. Travel as five and you can fold the third row away, and then large suitcases go in without a fight.

The driving is easy; the size takes a day to get used to. There's no clutch to work in traffic, and the high seat gives you a clear view ahead. What catches hatchback drivers out is the length and width, so take wider turns, use the mirrors when reversing, and do a slow lap of a quiet sector road before you set off.

A valid driving licence held for at least one year, plus government photo identification such as Aadhaar or a passport. Both must be produced in original at handover. International visitors need a passport and an international driving permit.

No. The car is handed over at a recorded fuel level and should be returned at the same level. Fuel used during your rental is your own cost.

Each rental includes 200 km per day. Beyond that, additional kilometres are charged at Rs 10 to 15 per km depending on the vehicle category.

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup. Cancellations inside 24 hours are charged one day of rental.

Yes. We deliver across Chandigarh, Mohali, Zirakpur, Panchkula and Kharar, and hand over at Chandigarh airport or the railway station. Tell us the address and time when you book.

Yes. Tell us at the time of booking so the paperwork covers interstate travel, and we can suggest a vehicle suited to hill driving.

Yes, a refundable deposit is taken before handover. It is returned after the car is inspected on return, less any charges under our terms. The amount depends on the vehicle.

You must be at least 21 years old and have held a valid driving licence for at least one year.
